How it all began

The original squad of 7 boys started life at Newton Town at u-8. For the start of the u-10 season they had moved to their new home at Buckland Athletic. In mini soccer the boys have finished league runners up no less than 3 times. They moved to The Exeter & District League at u-12 for their first venture at 11 a side and duly finished 2nd again in a very competitive top division. Also at u-11 they attended the week long Arsenal International Soccer Festival in London and produced a series of remarkable displays to reach the final before losing to a London Soccer Academy 2-1. The team has been a victim of its own success, losing 5 players to local acadamies and a few more may follow. However, we managed to put together another very talented group again at U-13 and won the Exeter & District League and also got to the semi final of the Devon County Cup. The summer of 09 saw the team off on another trip, this time to The Liverpool & Knowsley International Festival and we came a creditable fourth, in what was a tough tournament. U-14 sees another challenge due to changes again in the playing staff, but a core of great players remain.
The U 14 season brought a season of change in the playing staff and although numbers were short at the start of the campaign, the spirit of the players and determination early on meant the team finished a very credible runners up in the League. In a very diffilcult and physical league, this was a terrific result.
